Role Models by Ieva
Remember the times when you were a little girl.
I bet we all had a number of role models, teachers and wannabes
people or fictional characters that made our eyes sparkle,
evoked us to dream big and be brave
becoming exactly who we wished to become one day.
Having role models is highly beneficial to us psychologically.
This is likely a survival function designed to help us
mimic the traits of those successful members of our society and
thereby help us to be successful too.
Almost every single person is motivated by someone.
In the age of mass information and, especially,
the harsh media influence on woman image,
I'd say these are the times when it's even more important
to have role models than ever and
choose them wisely.
Choose a few of those whose ideas & morals you agree with.
Few of those whose life decisions you admire and get driven by.
Few of those whose literature work you could read & re-read a thousand times,
just to get a little closer to the way they beautifully see this world.
Those whose attitude you adore.
Those whose lifestyle you sympathise with.
And of course, those whose wardrobe you'd wish to steal!
When I look at the various list of my role models,
they all have a common trait, though.
They all remind me the greatest lesson a woman should learn
That since day one, she's already had everything she needs within herself.
It's the world that convinced her she did not.
